Example 2 — Odds for the Favourite
Team B is the favourite, with odds of: Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. A negative American figure means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit. A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,250 if you win (৳250 profit). Because the favourite's odds are lower, the return is also lower.
Multi Bet Example: Three winners are chosen from three separate matches — with odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90 respectively. Multiplied together, the combined odds are: 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26. A ৳100 bet returns ৳426 if all three selections are correct. If any one of them loses, the entire ৳100 is lost.
Live Betting While the Match Is On
Live or in-play betting means you can still place bets after the match has started. Odds change with every ball and over — when a wicket falls the bowling team's odds shorten, and after a big shot the batting team's odds improve.
In a T20 match, if the run rate during the powerplay overs is higher than expected, that team's win odds drop quickly. On the other hand, a big wicket in the death overs can flip the odds again. These rapid shifts are what make live betting engaging.
In ODI cricket, conditions can change considerably across 50 overs. A batting team that starts slowly can still post a big score in the final 10 overs. In Test cricket, the pitch gets harder to bat on over time, so fourth-innings odds take on a completely different character.
